Mens vintage clothing, vintage suits & accessories from and in the style of the 1930s.
By the early thirties, the "drape cut" or "London Drape" suit was taking the world of men's fashion by storm. The gentlemens 1920's suit was softer and more flexible in construction than the suits of the previous decade. Jacket had light padding to the shoulders and a slightly nipped in waist. The wide, straight leg trousers (the standard size was 23 inches at the cuff / turn-ups) that men had worn in the 1920s and early 1930's also became tapered at the bottom for the first time around 1935. This new suit was accepted enthusiastically by the big iconic Hollywood stars of the time including Fred Astaire, Cary Grant, and Gary Cooper who became the new fashion trendsetters.
The typical hat of this period was the Fedora hat . Gentlemens 1930's ties were wide and often bold geometric designs and stripes.
